Culture: Project 4

What are some things that define a culture? For example, music, language...

Culture is defined by music, architecture, literature, theater, dance, language, rituals, national holidays, traditions, national cuisine and some other spheres of life.   

What do you think is interesting about your culture?

To my mind the most interesting things in our culture are our churches and cross-stones.   

Do you know much about your own culture?

The National Art Gallery in Yerevan has more than 16,000 works. I like the pictures by Martiros Saryan, Hakob Kojoyan and Hovhannes Ayvazovski.

When people from other countries think about your culture, what do they usually think of?

They think that Armenian culture is very old and interesting. They know that we have a unique institute of ancient manuscripts which is called the Matenadaran. 

In your culture is it polite to be straightforward and direct when you talk to someone?

In my culture people are not straightforward. There are very cunning. 

What has surprised you when you've met people from other countries?

Nothing surprised me.

What don't you like about your culture?

I think that our culture is very rich and I like it very much.
